"Early Bird's Worm" by Steve Cole

What draws me to this photograph the, what appears to be, fog covering the trees. It gives the photo a certain mystery to it. The mountain range in the back reminds me of a 'Lord of the Rings' journey. I also love the warmness to the yellow in the sky. I always feel like that is the heart of a sunset and that is the part in which is most alive.

"Aurora behind Olstinden" by Cody Duncan
This photo was taken by Cody Duncan and he waited three weeks for this shot. He has a story about the difficulties he encountered while taking this. One if which includes his thousand dollar camera getting wet. The dedication that this photographer has to get his amazing photographs is why this belongs in the "Top Photos of 2012"

"Annual Eclipse Sunset" by Clark Crenshaw

Clark Crenshaw broke the law taking this photograph. He sped rapidly down the highway knowing that there would be a shot to take there. And luckily, he got there in time for the eclipse to take this. The sun appears to be a ring of fire. I have yet to see an eclipse of this effect and he deserves an honorable mention. Nicely done, Clark.

"The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge Fireworks #1" by Clark Crenshaw

I have a strange curiosity when it comes to architecture. And bridges like these. The look of the support cables when they meet and pass each other at the top? Yes, sir, that is beauty right there.

"Wagon and Old House in Morning Light" by Glen Schmidt

My imagination wonders what this small house and buggy was used for or by who and when. The deadness of it is nicely alive.
